“AChildhoodFriendship,A New Website:The Story Behind Shivanjali Nrityalaya’s Digital Launch”
Some of the most meaningful gifts are personal. When Shivanjali Nrityalaya, a Bharatanatyam institution in Malavalli, opened its doors on 26th August 2026, its founder Suvarsha Gowda received more than blessings from gurus and well-wishers — she received a website, built and gifted by a childhood friend’s organisation, the Gunesh Bharathiya Foundation®.
The Foundation’s Founder-Chairperson, Gunesh Bharathiya, has known Gowda since childhood. The gesture — a professionally built site now live at shivanjalinrityalaya.org — was described by the Foundation as “a token of love and respect… out of the same respect that binds this friendship.”
Gowda’s path to founding Shivanjali Nrityalaya combined over sixteen years of Bharatanatyam training under Karnataka Kalashree Vidwan K Chandrashekhara Navada with an academic record that includes multiple gold medals in Psychology and a recommendation for the Indian Army via the NCC Special Entry Scheme.
The story is a small but telling example of how personal relationships continue to shape community and institution-building efforts across Karnataka.
